They are agile and graceful in the water, but tend to be pretty sedentary on land. Seals are enthusiastic hunters of fish and crustaceans. Their flippers are longer than those of Harbor seals and their dense, coarse fur ranges from gray to brown to black. Northern fur seals are less common and tend to stick closer to the Northern Oregon Coast. Their fur ranges from brown to gray, and may have darker spots. Fully grown seals can be up to 6 feet long.
